: 3 days of literary festivities for the Book Festival

On November 22, 23 and 24, the Book Festival returns to , on the Place d'Armes.

For this 2024 edition, the Department of Var offers you nearly 150 literary events, such as major interviews, round tables, signing sessions, workshops, masterclasses and quizzes. During these three days, 450 authors will be present, spread across the stands of eighteen partner Var bookstores.

This new edition celebrates the unique freedom that the world of books conveys and invites you to rediscover your classics. This year, tribute is paid to “the child of the hills” Marcel Pagnol, through a meeting, a writing competition for college students from Var, an escape game, as well as an artistic fresco.

A must in the Var cultural landscape, the Var Book Festival has always sought to bring together all generations and cultures around the passion for reading. By welcoming authors representing the diversity of literary genres, this event offers each year a friendly, joyful interlude and above all accessible to all, marking the end of the Fall Literary Awards season.

French author of several award-winning detective novels, Bernard Minier is the Honorary President of this 27th edition of the Var Book Festival. Among the 450 authors present, four other guests of honor: Véronique Olmi The courage of the innocentDorothée Olliéric Mom is going to war, Yann Queffélec The black jellyfish, Julien Sandrel Lots of love and some ashes.

Finally this year, 150 literary meetings in various formats are offered, open to adults as well as young audiences, which attest to the richness of the literary and editorial landscape of the year: major interviews with several personalities from the literary world, round tables (to be moved, to vibrate, to review your classics…), major social debates (not to forget, to take a step back, to take the pulse and the news from the world…), historical meetings as well as various activities.
