“The joy of – Meetings and portraits”, presented by Claire Chazal

This week, Claire Chazal’s guests in “Au Bonheur des Livres” know each other and their are similar: Guillaume Durand et François Armanet are in fact two journalists and writers of the same generation, who each publish a fascinating book of interviews and memories.

The first book in “Bande apart” (Ed. Plon) a sort of somewhat disillusioned chronicle of his time, through his meetings with numerous personalities from the world of politics and entertainment: from David Bowie to Marine Le Pen, from Nicolas Sarkozy to Julien Clerc, there are numerous anecdotes in this gallery of portraits in chiaroscuro, and undoubtedly Guillaume Durand will he deliver some of them on the set…

The second gives in “You know what? A journalist's novel” (Ed. La Table Ronde) a picture of his admirations, where music and cinema play an important role since we find often surprising interviews, carried out at various times, with Lou Reed, Jean-Luc Godard, John Le Carré, Joan Baez, etc. The whole thing then resembles a sort of polyphonic and literary journal, which spans several decades of creation with a nimble and often humorous step.

In any case, these are two strong, eloquent and chic personalities who are brought together on Public Senate around Claire Chazal: after having been first-rate interviewers, they well deserved to be interviewed in their turn!
