50 years after forming one of the funniest comedy troupes in the French cultural landscape, Spendid tells his story in a new book. Soberly baptized The Spent on the Splendid, we had so much funand published by Le Cherche Midi, this work looks back on the unprecedented trajectory of this iconic band of cinema and boards, from their meeting on the benches of the Pasteur high school in Neuilly-sur-Seine (Hauts-de-Seine) to their rise to the rank of popular icons through their beginnings in the heart of the café-theater rue des Lombards, in Paris.
The Splendid View on the Spend
In addition to the well-known story of the Splendid, the book, available on November 21 in bookstores, has the particularity of giving voice to the troop itself. Thus, Josiane Balasko, Marie-Anne Chazel, Christian Clavier, Gérard Jugnot, Thierry Lhermitte, Bruno Moynot and of course, Michel Blanc, who died, just a few weeks before the publication of the work, tell their stories in a new way and for the first time times.
Collector and commented photographs, hilarious anecdotes from filming around the Tanned people go skiing (1979) et du Santa Claus is trash (1982), their greatest hits, or even unpublished texts in the form “letters of love and friendship” as Thierry Lhermitte likes to point out on France Interare so many treasures that make up this autobiography, in which everyone participates in their own privacy before sharing their texts with the rest of the troupe.
Tribute to Michel Blanc
Despite the joy of the reunion that the publication of this book brought to the troop, The Spendid by the Spendid, we had so much fun has a bitter taste following the death of Michel Blanc. Disappeared in October, the interpreter of the legendary Jean-Claude Dusse of Les Bronzés leaves behind a great void, and the sensation “a party is a little spoiled” confides Gérard Jugnot, still at the microphone of France Inter.
