Michèle Germain, manager of the Florentine bookstore ParChemins, will welcome a new author, Nicolas Jolivot, next Saturday.

This Angevin designer already came to ParChemins two years ago, to present his very beautiful book to us. Travel around my garden »,she recalls. He returns with a magnificent illustrated work, From the Loire Islandsa journey from the source to the estuary published by Elytis éditions.

From island to island, Nicolas Jolivot stopped to draw in his notebooks the moment of a landscape and its shapes. Then returning to the workshop, he sought to restore the eternity of colors and lights noting in parallel all the details that bear witness to a forgotten world, all those things that we no longer see because we have seen them. Thus, he was able to observe a number of new animal and plant species that had come to blend into the banks, or compete violently with their native counterparts.

“An ideal album for the holidays”, suggests Michèle Germain.
