Five good reasons to go to the Pays de Children’s Book Fair

More than 1,500 titles of all genres for the little ones will be offered at the Children's Book Fair, organized by the Morbihan Teaching League, from Friday November 22 to Wednesday November 27, 2024, at the Palais des Congrès in . , comics, mangas, novels, documentaries, albums and pop-ups will be presented by the five partner bookstores in Lorient. After last year's success, with nearly 5,000 children and young people visitors in one week, this year the show will celebrate the imagination of children's literature under this evocative theme: “Plein les yeux”.

  • 2 A magical atmosphere

This 2024 edition promises to be magical! And this, from the entrance, with immersive exhibitions because this year, the show places the emphasis on the visual. On the program: “The true history of children’s stories”, “Spirit are you there? Kachina dolls”, “The childhood of the bad guys”, “Once upon a time” by Dominique Richard but also a special exhibition on mangas.

  • 3 Innovative animations

The Children's Book Fair plays the originality card with activities such as an escape game, “The Barnabus project” and shows every day, such as “Les Fables de la ” by the Théâtre des Ombres and pop-up shows by Cie Îlot 135.

  • 4 Discuss with authors and illustrators

    Visitors will be able to meet authors and illustrators at book signings on the weekend, but also discuss the books they like and ask questions. Pop-up and origami workshops will also be offered, as well as demonstrations during which the public will be able to discover how creators bring their world to life on paper.

  • 5 Participate in competitions

    A drawing competition is planned for this Sunday, November 24. And a big premiere will be offered the day before, Saturday November 23: “My favorite literary character”. This will involve dressing up as a character from a book, comic strip or other (locker room on site to change). In three age categories, a jury will select three winners during a parade. Please note, you must register in advance.
