Since Friday, the sale of documents saved from the pestle has been a hit at the media library. It continues today with, in addition, nature activities revolving around the exhibition The tree makes the link.
On the dedicated tables, the piles of second-hand Books and CDs have melted. A large part of the 4,000 documents removed from the media library's collections and put on sale at €1 each for three days have already found a buyer. (see our November 13 edition).
Subscribers were entitled to the preview, Friday afternoon, where “300 people were welcomed between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m.,” mentions Sylvie Poupon, director of the media library. Yesterday, the general public swelled the flow, with nearly 250 visitors and buyers registered in the morning.
Exhibition until November 30
For Céline and Camille, this biannual operation where they have unearthed nuggets on the theme of architecture, is very attractive. “€1 per book is interesting, because buying new has a cost today. We also like the idea of giving the works a second life.”
Accompanied by her son Kelan, Roxane fulfilled her tote bags of children's books by setting a limit of “no more than twenty” to which may be added “novels and detective stories”.
The quest was also good for Élodie who made “a little stock” for the children, “for example titles from L'école des Loisirs”, a collection which delights her daughter Sofia.
Readers still have a chance to find what they're looking for today, between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. The documents left behind will subsequently be taken over by the associations Les famille dolchardiennes and Le Tourne-livre.
This open afternoon is also an opportunity to discover the exhibition The tree makes the connection (extended until November 30) and the works of CP and CE1 students from the three schools of Saint-Doulchard. But also to make nest boxes, feeders and learn how to fold books.
Practical. Media library, today, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.; FREE ENTRANCE.
