Public attendance is fluid and constant, Monday November 11, 2024, in the Artannes village hall. The “C’est du dé-Lire” operation, sale of second-hand Books, organized by the association of friends of Artan heritage (Aapa) is in full swing. Eighty people were present at the opening. No one leaves the village hall without having purchased a book. DVDs, detective novels, children's storybooks, comics, collections of cooking recipes are not to be outdone. The average sale per book is €1.
To the greatest satisfaction of the organizers, this year, entire families came. A snack, with tasting of homemade cakes and drinks was planned. Many people leave with their arms full of literary works.
This is a new, meaningful operation led by Aapa. Around ten diligent volunteers took charge of installing this book exchange, not without sparing their efforts because the boxes are heavy. Let us hope that their effort will be rewarded, and beneficial to the next phase of restoration of the Saint-Maurice church, currently under study.
