Literature takes it to the next level

The whole point of LitRPG is tooffer the readership an innovative experience by featuring characters who must live and evolve in the world of video games or tabletop role-playing games. But be careful, nothing to do with interactive literature, these famous “books in which you are the hero”, or with novels from video game licenses.

For the protagonists, it involves exploring an environment (usually hostile), interacting with NPCs, doing tutorials, completing quests and challenges, unlocking achievements, acquiring new skills. , to complete their equipment or to monitor their inventory and especially their life points.

The two titles to discover from November 7, 2024

Readers thus immerse themselves in stories that are intended to be more immersive and rhythmic by repeating all the mechanics and dynamics of RPG and JDR. The evolution and progression of the hero are therefore at the heart of these stories which also summon the Isekai as Sword Online or Overlord (a subgenre of Japanese fantasy in which one or more ordinary characters find themselves in a fantastic parallel universe).

For the first time in France, two iconic series which already bring together millions of fans across the world are available simultaneously from Lorestone, the first French label dedicated to the genre. The first is Dungeon Crawler Carl written by Matt Dinnimanin which a very bad hero is teleported into a hellish labyrinth after the destruction of our civilization by aliens who organize a deadly tournament to decide the fate of the survivors.

Get ready for the next battle

The second is just as cult Primal Hunter by the author Zogarthin which a seemingly ordinary office worker is thrust with his colleagues into a danger-filled reality in which he must survive for 63 days. Except that this one is a little too enthusiastic compared to the others… which makes you wonder if he was simply born in the wrong universe.

The other particularity of these two titles is that they are available in three different formats : a large format book, audio books available on your usual platforms, which are released at the same time as the paper version, and finally in ebook, in episodes and in volumes.

Additionally, Lorestone announced thata new series will be launched in January 2025 with a sustained pace of publication: one new product per month (sequel or new title) which will each time be available in bookstores.
