Gourenez, a federation of cultural associations in the Guérande region, works to strengthen Breton identity and make its culture more accessible and attractive. With this in mind, it organizes the Guérande Brittany Book Festival, which aims to make people want to read and disseminate Breton-language publishing more widely.
Open door on the anniversary
The poster for the twentieth edition, subtitled “open door to the twentieth anniversary”, immediately sets the tone of the event. Indeed, announces President Michel Rivalland, “the Saint-Michel gate has been transformed into a bookish environment open to all possibilities, which is the principle of books in general. This redesigned Guérandaise door has the particularity of entering into a sort of fairyland, of leaving reality in these somewhat delicate moments that we are experiencing and of going into the imagination. This also contributes to meeting a more adolescent audience interested in fantasy comics and romance.”
The honorary president of this 2024 edition, Tristan Pichard, has just rewritten the legend of King Arthur, published by Locus solus. “The first two volumes are very symbolic and linked to the poster we made, constate Michel Rivalland. It contributes to medievalism. » Tristan Pichard will give a conference on the construction of his book, in particular, with film extracts, Friday November 15, at 6:30 p.m., at the Presqu'île cinema.
The other guests of honor are Dan ar Braz, Sophie Berger, Bernard Berrou, Nathalie de Broc, Hervé Hamon, Frédéric Jambon, Liza Kerivel and Nono. There is something for all literary tastes, with a nod to previous years, since the Athanor corridor will allow you to find old festival posters and some photos.
Saturday November 16 and Sunday November 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in Athanor. Free and free entry. Contact : festivaldulivreguerande.jimdofree.com
