Friday November 1, two days after the publication of his new thriller, the novelist Maxime Chattam was the guest of Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine in C to you. The opportunity for him to talk about the precious help of his wife, Faustine Bollaert.
Halloween is over, but it’s still possible to scare yourself by reading a thriller. On October 30, the writer Maxime Chattam published his new book, Prime Timewhose plot takes place in the media world. The pitch is as follows: while millions of viewers are sitting in front of their television to watch the 8 p.m. news broadcast on the first channel, a masked individual with a distorted voice takes the star presenter hostage. His instructions are clear: if the live broadcast is cut, he will kill the journalist. Friday November 1, the 48-year-old novelist was invited to C to you on France 5 to promote it. At the microphone of Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine, he explained that his wife, the presenter Faustine Bollaert, was enormously involved in the writing of this work.
Maxime Chattam about his book: “Faustine really put a lot of effort into it”
Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine was not gentle with her guest. “Your first reader is on television, didn’t she tell you that prime time was at 9 p.m., not 8 p.m.? That shocks me as a specialist!”she pointed out to him, surprised. “Yes, she told me one day!”he replied with a laugh, clearly not offended to be corrected on this point. “We had lots of discussions about this book. Obviously, a book that talks about the world of TV, Faustine really got a lot involved…”he added. Before assuring that his partner had invested herself to the point of “cowrite”certain passages of this thriller. “It was a real help, a real insight into what [le métier] people who work in front of the camera”specified Maxime Chattam on the set of France 5. “Yes, on prime time, I cheated!he admitted. It’s like with the cover. If you look, it’s an old TV from the 60s! At first, we wanted to put in a modern TV, but it made a black screen, it was ugly!”
This beautiful project in which Maxime Chattam would like to involve Faustine Bollaert
Maxime Chattam and Faustine Bollaert have been married since 2012, and from their union two children were born, named Abbie and Peter. In private life as in their careers, they provide each other with unwavering support.
