The SNCF “embarrassed” by the promotion of Jordan Bardella’s book in stations

UA major advertising campaign will flourish in train stations at the end of November to promote the book by the president of the National Rally, Jordan Bardella, entitled “What I am looking for”.

581 panels, present in around a hundred stations, would have been reserved “everywhere in and in the suburbs”, reveals LiberationWednesday October 16. The campaign was negotiated with the SNCF by Hachette Livre and Fayard, the parent company of its publisher, owned by Vincent Bolloré, without specifying who was the author of the book highlighted.

The SNCF became aware of its contents on Wednesday and said it was “embarrassed” by the situation, while specifying: “Today, there is no legal basis allowing us to justify a refusal”. While recalling its desire to refuse “any message likely to encourage discrimination” in its stations, the advertising agency indicates that it will carefully examine the visuals of the campaign.

A “provocation” for the CGT railway workers

For their part, the railway workers’ unions called on the SNCF CEO, Jean-Pierre Farandou, to demand the refusal of “this poster campaign in the service of a far-right political party”.
