Since 2005, this event has transformed the city into the capital of black novels. The Chartreuse du Val de Bénédiction, a historic monument founded by Pope Innocent VI in the 14th century, becomes the heart of the festival where authors, readers and enthusiasts meet. The festival is not limited to books: film screenings, signing sessions, conferences, writing workshops and even board games and concerts are on the program. Visitors can also participate in a escape game for children, “Ten minutes to save the tower”, organized at the Tour Philippe le Bel. A fun way to introduce young people to the world of investigation.

The Readers’ Prize

Each year, the Readers’ Prize brings together a jury made up of 9 enthusiasts of dark novels. Together, they debate for 4 months around 7 selected novels, published between April 1 of the previous year and March 30 of the current year. A literary adventure rich in suspense!
