a very feminine 15th Pyrenees Book Fair – LOURDES-ACTU

This Saturday, October 6, after a busy day, took place the “inauguration” of the Pyrenees Book Fair® and the presentation of the Pyrenees Book Prizes®, in the presence of Jacques SALOMON, Prefect of the Hautes-Pyrénées, and Claude CAZABAT, Mayor of Bagnères-de-Bigorre, and elected officials from our territories.

A very feminine Pyrenees Book Prize® ceremony, with the presence of all the authors, who shared their emotion with us, in particular Manuela PARRA, bearer of the words of women from the other side of the Pyrenees and further afield…

Under the sun, the public and exhibitors were numerous: 77 exhibitors and more than 2000 entries.

The meetings with authors, around the common thread “Women in the Pyrenees”, as well as the literary cafés were very well attended and aroused real interest in the alleys of the Carré Py event. The activities offered, in particular those aimed at young audiences, and the investigation game created for the occasion “crime at Lake Binaros” were very well received.

Also note the good attendance at what has in fact become an Alpine bookstore with the presence of three publishers from the other side of the Rhône: éditions Glénat – Rando-éditions, éditions du Mont-Blanc, éditions Paulsen – Guérin, next to the Auprès de Pyrène bookstore, specialist in the Pyrenees. Without forgetting the exhibitors from across the Pyrenees, coming from Aragon, the Prames editions and the printer Huella Digital. Alongside publishing houses, bookstores, authors, the world of books, writing and art was also present, making the Salon du Livre Pyrénées® the meeting place for exception around the book and the Pyrenees that it aims to be.

The Binaros association thanks once again the theater troupes (Cie Le Chant des Pistes for Death of a mountain ; Cie Febus for The daring ones of Vignemale), the photographers still exhibited in Bagnères-de-Bigorre, Amanda MEUNIER and Israel ARINO, who enrich the event.

Binaros thanks the visitors for the interest in his event, all the people, and first of all the volunteers, the exhibitors, the publishing houses, the bookstores and second-hand booksellers, the authors, the guests. es and speakers, the associative partners, private and public, and their members or staff who ensure an event which takes place in good humor and shines beyond its ephemeral material existence.

Binaros already invites you to the 16th edition of the Pyrenees Book Fair, on October 4 and 5, 2025, with the common thread of the programming: migrations.
