The Military Book Fair of Metz will take place this Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Cercle Saint-Arnould, in the old abbey adjoining the Judicial Court. 50 civilian and military authors will meet from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for a 3rd editionplaced under the theme of youth and 80 years of the Liberation of France.
“Through a selection of works in varied styles, you will be able to discover the realities of the military profession, reflect on current defense issues, or even immerse yourself in historical testimonies and stories,” indicates Pierre MEYER, new military governor of Metz.
On the agenda for the day:
- 1:00 p.m.: opening of the Military Book Fair (Music of the Cavalry Armored Weapon)
- 1:30 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.: conference “A Gestapo camp in Metz” by Cédric NEVEU and Michaël LANDOLT
- 2:30 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.: conference “Facing death, the unprecedented testimony of a gendarme” by Colonel Rémy NOLLET
- 3:30 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.: Conference “The First World War under the gaze of General Castelnau” by Benoît CHENU
- 7:00 p.m.: end of the Military Book Fair
The Military Book Fair is a free event, open to allespecially to families. A youth program with comics will be offered.
