Jarny. With her first two books, Thérèse Armand explores the pen with humor and passion

Former secretary, Thérèse Armand sees herself retired early at the dawn of her forties. An infinite time then opens up to her, and with it, the field of possibilities. What to do now? Well, writing, since she always loved that. “I have always had an ease with phrasing, I was already writing texts, parodies for family celebrations. So I wanted to improve myself in that” She then joined a few writing workshops here and there in Meuse and Meurthe-et-.

Two published collections

Today, after more than 10 years of training within these groups, the desire has arisen in her to bring her work together in a collection. “Some of my texts have been published in a collective collection, produced with the other members of the writing workshops. Then I told myself that I was going to make my own, for me. It was my son who wanted to do this well and suggested that I create a beautiful cover. » From this little personal project two books will ultimately come out. A first, Finally, we must hope last summer on the CoolLibri site. “It’s a collection of 18 short stories, 9 of which I won competitions with. These are texts that I selected from those I have written over the last ten years. All the stories are very distinct from each other, but the little specificity is that I added between each story small paragraphs which make the link between the characters”

A family job

Thérèse Armand also publishes a second book, When my pen gets hairy “small texts and writing games, with riddles, charades, cryptographies… This one is accessible to a wider audience, adults but also children and adolescents, because it is lighter and is meant to be funny”. A book also produced with the support of those close to him, “the illustrations were done by my grandchildren, so it’s a bit of a family effort”. The author will be present at the Auboué Book Fair this Saturday, October 12.
