Saillenard. Book Fair: the 7th edition looks promising | Weekly 39

Volunteers gathered to validate the list of authors around their blue shirt president

The Saillen’Arts association, which works solely to promote reading for all, organizes each year, on the first weekend of December, a fair welcoming 30 authors to meet readers. The final details have been refined for several weeks, including the confirmation of the sponsor of the 2024 edition, Christophe Royer and Manon Barborier, guest of honor, were recorded by the volunteers supervised by their president Noël Michalczack.

Christophe Royer, author of thrillers, features a recurring heroine in his latest work: police captain Nathalie Lesage. The environment of suspense and investigation will therefore be the common thread of the godfather, originally from . The author has already published numerous works, particularly science fiction, his other favorite theme.

Another tradition during this major annual meeting, a guest of honor Marion Barborier, storyteller and illustrator, will work ahead of the show for a few days with the students of the Saint-Usuge school (Saône-et-) from from the series Les Bêtises de Léo of which she is the author, the students’ work will be presented during this day.

Two categories of authors will be presented: authors published by publishing houses, there will be 5 this year, including the sponsor, a partnership with the Forum bookstore in Louhans, which makes it possible to set up this category. The second category: self-published authors, there will be 25 in all fields, biography, youth, new poetry, youth illustration, youth poetry, thrillers, fantasy-romance etc.

A panel of authors which always attracts a large audience of all ages to meet the authors, interact with them, talk about their passion. A book fair in the heart of Bresse organized in a rural environment without the support of a community or community of communes, a great achievement to be credited to a team of volunteers who wish to promote authors and above all educate the public about reading. The regional reputation of this show over the years has proven itself and this new edition looks promising.

Practical: Sunday December 1, foyer room (center of the town) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., free entry, small meals, information on 06 07 08 88 31 or [email protected].
