“A moment for the whole family”: final stretch before the book fair

the essential
The “ s’enlivre” book fair will be held on Sunday October 20, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Gérard Philippe room. A first that the organizers are approaching with desire and many original ideas.

“Castres s’enlivre”, first edition of the Castres Book Fair, is preparing to write the first page of its history. It will be on Sunday October 20, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Gérard Philippe room. Christine Carneau and Pierre Baïsse, from the organizing association “Les Encrés Tarnais”, wanted a show open to all, “which goes beyond the confines that you can sometimes find at certain shows”.

To achieve this objective, they did not skimp on the original proposals. “The idea,” confides Pierre Baïsse, “is that a family can come and spend some time. There will be activities for everyone.” Thus, there will be conferences, exhibitions, but also workshops.

Authors, book professionals, actors…

You can learn calligraphy or bookbinding. A graphic designer will be present, and Jean-Jaurès middle school students will host an origami workshop. The day will be punctuated by dramatized readings, carried out by the actor Franck Adrien (Un si grand soleil, Mongeville, Caïn…), a professional will read stories to the children and there will even be a workshop on painting “superheroes”.

Christine Carneau insists: “You don’t need to be a big reading enthusiast to come! We didn’t want to create a show for those in the know.” The regulars of these meetings will not, however, be in unfamiliar territory, “Castres s’enlivre” having succeeded in mobilizing excellent authors from all over – without forgetting the locals. You will find novels, thrillers, children’s books, comics…

Anne Icart, godmother of the event, Max Assié, well-known local author, but also Céline Charlier, Maxbarteam and her detective novels, Emmanuel Huc, Jean-Marc Guilbert and even Jean Bastide. The latter will also present the brand new Boule et Bill album, which he has just produced.

The meeting would not be complete without an awards ceremony: a jury will have the difficult task of awarding several awards to authors, in different categories. The awards ceremony will take place at 11 a.m.
