With the desire to provide necessary insight to readers, publications discussing the attacks that hit Israel have multiplied as the anniversary date approaches.

Testimonies, novels, collections of poetry… A “editing phenomenon” according to AFP correspondent Michaël Blum, who recently listed around fifty books in Hebrew on October 7 published in Israel – some bookstores on site now even have a dedicated section. Without the situation being equivalent in France, numerous publications on the subject have emerged in France in recent months (around twenty since January), several of which have been successful – as well as How is it not going? Conversations after October 7 by Delphine Horvilleur or, on a more didactic side, byIsrael-Palestine: anatomy of a conflict by Vincent Lemire and Thomas Snégaroff. As the anniversary date approaches, the pace has accelerated further, driven by a feeling shared by the various players in the publishing world to provide necessary insight to readers.

“Freeze things and that day”

Just as September 11, 2001 became September 11, or November 13, 2015 became November 13, October 7, 2023 became October 7, with capital letters and without a year. Spelled as such, the date gave its title to the first major
