From book to play, the same passion

The 15th edition of the Pyrenees Book Fair will open its doors in Bagnères-de-Bigorre on Saturday October 5 for two days dedicated to all types of books showcasing the Pyrenees in all its aspects.

But from this week, and until the weekend of the show, several meetings are offered by the Binaros association to multiply and vary the pleasures. Starting with this photographic exhibition by Amanda Meunier, at Pique-Pivoine (10 rue Justin Daléas, Bagnères-de-Bigorre), whose opening took place on September 26. “Young photographer, filmmaker, Amanda Meunier, after studying at the Bagnères-de-Bigorre high school and at ESAV in , settled on the family farm in the Baronnies with a project linking the culture of the land and beasts to that of images”.

Two plays

On October 3 (at 2:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.), it is in the form of a play, presented by the Company “Le chant des pistes”, that the public will be invited to discover, at the Halle at Grains, the book “Death of a Mountain”, by Jérôme Cochet and François Hien, winner in 2023 of the Pyrenees Book Prize – Literature.

On October 5, at 8:30 p.m., the Beaudéan village hall will host the performance of “Les daringes du Vignemale”, by the Cie Théâtre Fébus. The performance will introduce an exchange on the place of women in Pyrenean mountaineering with Nanou Saint-Lèbe, author in particular “Women discovering the Pyrenees” (Privat 2002).
