Walid Regragui, coach of the Morocco team, is interested in the young prodigy of Real Madrid, Youssef Lekhedim alias Yusi, one of the most prominent players in the club’s reserves, and intends to use him during the participation of the Lions from the Atlas to the African Cup of Nations (CAN) and the 2026 World Cup.
Will Youssef Lekhedim aka “Yusi” finally make his debut with the Morocco team? Called up during training last March, he was not used in the friendly matches against Angola and Mauritania. But, with the growing interest of Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti in this young 19-year-old player, Walid Regragui “considers taking advantage of this situation by putting the player back at the center of his plans”, understands the site Win Win. A source close to the coach of the Morocco team also confided that Regragui placed the Real Madrid prodigy at the top of the list of professionals playing on the European continent.

Regragui considers him as one of the young talents to prepare for the future, particularly for the African Cup of Nations (CAN Morocco 2025) and the 2026 World Cup. The Atlas Lions coach needs him to strengthen the left-back position, a position for which he is developing “an obsession” and which he describes as a “field of experimentation”, added the same source.

Regragui will hold a meeting with his assistants upon his return from his European tour to draw up the list of potential new recruits who could join the ranks of the national team in the next phase. He has three talents in his sights, led by the revelation of LOSC Lille, Ayoub Bouaddi, the nugget of Club Bruges, Chemsdine Talbi, and the scorer of the Scottish Rangers, Hamza Igamane. These players could be lined up for the matches against Niger and Tanzania on the fifth and sixth days of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers.
