While the doping case involving Jannik Sinner will be judged from April 16 to 17 by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), following an appeal from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the famous sports scientist, Ross Tucker spoke about this in the latest episode of the podcast Indo Sport.
And Tucker first played devil's advocate before explaining that the world number 1's version was plausible.
“It is possible that Sinner used clostebol deliberately, knowing that it is in the cream and that if taken it has a ready defense against contamination because there has been a study that innocent. So it's possible that this is just a very clever way of doping, but we can't prove it. It must therefore be said that the player is innocent. Perhaps the CAS will explore certain aspects that the initial decision did not take into account. In his defense, he produced a study carried out by an Italian university on this subject. This study explored the different ways in which one can be contaminated. So, for example, participant A uses clostebol cream and shakes hands with half a dozen people. It is therefore a very short contact. They tested these people over the next 48 hours to see if they could detect it and they did. So there was accumulation. It is possible to transfer the clostebol contained in a massage cream from one person to another. He is therefore able to establish the source of the positive test. »
