A winter viability system set up in Loire-Atlantique
Until Monday March 3, the Department of Loire-Atlantique has put in place a winter service system.
In order to deal with the consequences of winter phenomena on the departmental road network (ice, snowfall, etc.), the Department has put in place a winter service system which will last until March 3. This service requires the mobilization of significant human and material resources, which is why 24 teams are mobilized throughout the Loire-Atlantique department. The Department's Roads PC complements this system, in order to supervise the entire departmental road network. It is in contact with Météo France forecasters and can remain open at night, if events require it. Drivers can thus have real-time information on traffic conditions on the site. : inforoutes.loire-atlantique.fr
The Department invites drivers to be extra vigilant in the event of bad weather and to use priority routes, namely:
-- Serving the main economic centers (high traffic routes).
- Serving specific centers (colleges, hospitals) outside urban areas.
- Priority treatment of the rest of the major network.
Also, it is up to each user to take a certain number of precautions, such as:
- Find out about driving conditions before departure.
- Adapt your driving to traffic conditions and be attentive to the condition of the road and the weather (temperature, humidity, etc.).
- Be vigilant approaching bridges, shaded and damp areas, bends, etc.
- Equip yourself with useful accessories to traffic in winter (squeegee, anti-icing spray, gloves, etc.).
- Possibly modify your usual route to join the priority routes.
- Postpone, if necessary, your movement.
