In the heart of winter, the Night of Reading — Revue Les libraires

Like a joke to the pale winter sun, Reading Night shakes up our homely habits and brightens our long cold evenings, reminding us of the warmth and comfort that literature brings us, particularly when we celebrate it together.

The 7th will take place on January 25e edition of the Night of Reading, here and there in Quebec, in bookstores, libraries and other cultural places, or quite simply in the comfort of our homes. Thanks to the event’s two ambassadors, Chloé Varin and Éric Chacour, we can be assured that this night will be as inspiring as it is surprising! In fact, around twenty pairs of authors will read to us online and discuss their works throughout the evening. Between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m., we are read to in the company of, notably, Chloé Varin and Carine Paquin, Caroline Merola and Élise Turcotte, Louis-Karl Picard-Sioui and Sébastien Bérubé, Jean-Paul Eid and Samuel Cantin, Éric Chacour and Catherine Leroux, Jean-Philippe Pleau and Isabelle Picard, Jean-Paul Daoust and Carole David and Jessyca David and Geneviève Simard. This way, moments of pure happiness, pleasant surprises and inspiring encounters!

For those who want to face winter, don’t miss the different activities planned in your region! From the storytelling vigil in Rouyn-Noranda to those told by Philippe Béha, in Candiac, from a night at the Librairie Liber, in New Richmond, to literary games lit by La Mèche, at Marie-Laura’s, in Jonquière, the night is likely to be long and entertaining!

Reading Night is an initiative of the Union of Quebec Writers (UNEQ) and the Read to Succeed Foundation. Free and offered to young and old alike, it brings together literature lovers in the heart of winter. Launched 9 years ago in , the idea caught on and was joyfully adapted to our flavor, allowing us to shed a little light in this stretching January.
