The jury, made up of 18 European journalists, met on November 26, 2024 at the Ginger restaurant in Paris, under the chairmanship of Philippe Sands, Franco-British international writer and lawyer.
After extensive discussions, this book was selected among three other finalists: The song of the juniper by Régina Scheer (Éditions Actes Sud), The daughter of the enemy of the people by Lélia Dimitriu (Editions Grasset) and POST-populism by Bruno Muzergues (Éditions de l’Observatoire).
The official presentation of the prize, with a reward of 10,000 euros, will take place on December 11, 2024 at 6 p.m. at the European Parliament in Brussels.
The event will be held in the presence of Younous Omarjee, Vice-President of the European Parliament, and under the sponsorship of Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament. Pascal Lamy, President of the Sponsorship Committee, and Philippe Sands will also participate in the ceremony.
Last year, Robert Menasse received the trophy of the 17th European Book Prize for The enlargement (Editions Verdier).
