The Committee of Wise Men organized its book fair, Entre 2 livres, on Sunday, November 17, at Château Pey La Tour. Around thirty authors presented their works.
Among the children's authors, there was Anne-Élisabeth d'Orange who wrote “Erin”. The first volume was published twenty years ago, the second in 2023 and the third will be published in March 2025. Anne-Élisabeth d'Orange has always been attracted to Ireland and Celtic culture.
In the space dedicated to publications intended for an older audience, there was a local author, Philippe Lejeune. This photographer has just written his very first novel “Two Weeks in Hell”. The action takes place during the Second World War, in Normandy, during the Landings at Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944 and in the days that followed. Passionate about this period of history, Philippe Lejeune knew how to mix real events and romance.

Not far away sat Pierre Durand, former show jumping rider, gold medalist at the Seoul Olympics in 1988. He presented his book “Jappeloup”, published in 2012. Pierre Durand wrote it with the help of Michel Fradet, senior reporter at “Sud Ouest”. Michel Lafon Editions asked him to write and protect the true story of Jappeloup.
Among the other authors present, Dominique Dayau, former commander of the judicial police and author of detective novels, and Carole Merlo, who dedicated her novel “Insondeble Yolanda”. This event was coordinated by Catherine Gauthier, deputy mayor in charge of social affairs. The Committee of Elders is made up of four people aged 26 to 93. Its mission is to find ideas for intergenerational activities to make the town shine.
