Franck Luginbuhl will be at the MJC, Thursday, November 21, at 6:30 p.m., to present his latest book.
We left Franck Luginbuhl, or rather his character, the journalist Alexandre Haeffel, in April 2023, busy in a novel finding the relics of the preacher Saint Regis that had mysteriously disappeared. A work combining fiction and historical reality, autobiography, enigma and investigation… Today, it is a completely different book that the former director of Cefobat, passionate about writing, has just released. Its title: Experience. “It’s a novel of anticipation”specifies the author who will be signing Thursday November 21at 6:30 p.m., at the MJC: “I brought together in this book old ideas that were running through my head between politics, ecology and the desire for peace that I wanted to treat in a playful way”, he said.
The story takes place in 2065, just after… World War III! “Between global warming, the rise of extremes, the increased presence of viruses, authoritarian regimes are emerging almost everywhere on the planet. There is no more oil and researchers are working around new energies, some moving towards nuclear power. or nuclear fusion. In this context, Switzerland has been completely destroyed by the Taliban: it is a desert. notes the author.
Between experience and hope
A desert that will have to be repopulated according to a model: each canton will be reserved for an ideology and for inhabitants who will all agree on the model presented. “At the same time, a society is developing an electronic chip grafted into each being which will allow them to interact through thought. Its bosses are getting richer but, overall, they are good people, intelligent and honest, who work for peace. Hence the title, Experiencebetween experience and hope”note encore Franck Luginbuhl.
By describing a society in the form of a cliché of political ideologies, the author also exposes its utopias: “I am neither on the right, nor on the left, nor in the center but a little everywhere at the same time and nowhere too! In a situation of action in the future, I allow myself a few fantasies where ecology and social have their place just like the need for security for every citizen I also talk about religion, all religions: I respect everyone's faith, but so many conflicts have been generated by religions that are necessary, in my opinion. , move on.” A precept that will certainly be discussed during the signing session…
