So, around ten volunteers met this Saturday, November 16, to sort in order to eliminate almost 4,000 books. “Indeedcontinues Geneviève, our library wanted to be a heritage library. We kept all the books there while adding new ones regularly. We currently have nearly 6,000 volumes”. And Evelyne Soria continues: “we have 2 criteria: dilapidation and frequency of consultation”. The eliminated books are given to whoever wants them, the remainder will be removed by MP2 environment in order to experience a new life. “We decided to enlist the services of the departmental bookmobile in order to boost our library”explains Nathalie Escamez, assistant in charge of associations. “This recommends keeping 2 books per inhabitant in stock, i.e. for Roubia 1,200 volumes. Hence the sorting carried out today. This membership will give rise to a new operation including opening hours and activities from January”.
