The City of Oyonnax renews its commitment to promoting literature and reading by organizing the 2nd edition of the Youth Book Fair. This fair, coordinated by Cultural Services and the Media Library team, aims to bring young readers closer to those involved in literary creation – authors, illustrators, publishers – and to (re)instill a taste for reading in children. and adolescents.
The Show takes place in two phases:
- From Thursday 14 to Friday 15 November : privileged meetings between authors, illustrators and children are organized in schools (primary, middle, high school), but also in early childhood structures and social centers.
- From Saturday 16 to Sunday 17 November : the Aragon cultural center will be transformed into a space dedicated to young people to celebrate books in all their forms. Children will be able to meet authors, participate in creative workshops, attend readings, shows, or even screenings of films related to literature.
No less than 23 authors, 5 publishers and the Buffet bookstore will be present to offer a wide range of genres: albums, novels, comics, mangas, audio books, suitable for all ages, from toddlers to young adults.
The Children's Book Fair is also aimed at adults, with two highlights specially designed for them:
- Conference “Impact of screens on young people: why is reading essential? » hosted by Michel Desmurget – Wednesday November 13 at 6:15 p.m. at the Cultural Center cinema.
- “Reading aloud through kamishibaïs” training proposed by Olivier Ayme – Friday November 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., then from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This event is a great opportunity for families and education professionals to come together around the pleasure of reading, in a festive and inspiring setting.
