EDITIONS – There are principles with which Aurélie Bouhours does not compromise. And it’s not Jordan Bardella, nor his book What I’m looking for (ed. Fayard) which will change something. The one who runs the bookstore In the time of books in Sully-sur-Loire in Loiret, decided, as three years ago, at the time of the publication of France has not said its last word by Éric Zemmour, to donate the profits from sales to a refugee association.
« We discussed it again with my daughter, and we are going to do the same thing as a few years ago, we will donate the proceeds from the sales of Jordan Bardella’s book to the association La Maison d’Adam », she explains to HuffPost. A way of distancing oneself from the work of the leader of the National Rally, but a gesture whose scope remains limited.
« In reality we only have five copies in store, we put them on the bottom shelves, not too exposed. We have two reserved for us for the moment, but people don’t actually come to buy this kind of work from us », continues Aurélie Bouhours. However, it does not intend to oppose a customer’s order; in any case, practice stipulates that a bookstore must offer a service of this type with free in-store collection, as long as the desired book is not available. is not in stores, but available for sale.
The La Maison d’Adam association supports, helps and monitors isolated, abandoned or distressed minors, but also adults in difficulty. In 2016, she notably came to the aid of young people arriving from Sudan. Jordan Bardella, who systematically links immigration and delinquency, believes that unaccompanied minors cost too much and that it is up to them to prove their minority. In 2020, he said he wanted to expel them, without distinction.
Published this Saturday throughout France, the release of Jordan Bardella’s book is accompanied by a masterful communications operation from Fayard. The publishing house in the fold of Vincent Bolloré announced on Friday that it was filing a complaint against MediaTransports, the advertising agency of the SNCF, in particular to contest its refusal to advertise the famous work in stations. MediaTransports had however explained, based on its “principles of neutrality”that it would not display advertisements for the book since it was written by a serving political figure.
