Released at the beginning of last June, the book “The 50 best OM players“, in which Fabrice Lamperti paints the portrait of 50 Olympians who left a big mark during their time under the sky and white tunic, is in the spotlight this Saturday afternoon at the Fnac de La Valentine.

From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., journalist Fabrice Lamperti, follower of OM since 2003 for “But !” Then Provencewill dedicate his first work alongside a distinguished guest: Basile Boli.

The header in the final of the 1993 European Champion Clubs’ Cup, which allowed Olympique de to be the first club in the history of French football (and still the only one) to win a cup of Europe, is obviously present in this bible dedicated to aficionados of the Marseille club. In addition to the former defender, the book traces the saga of a unique club, evoking its most legendary figures. Decade after decade, goals, successes, exploits, trophies and stars parade. All the heroes of the Marseille people are there: Gunnar Andersson, Fabien Barthez, Larbi Ben Barek, Didier Deschamps, Éric Di Meco, Didier Drogba, Lucho Gonzalez, Roger Magnusson, Carlos Mozer, Jean-Pierre Papin, Abedi Pelé, Josip Skoblar, Chris Waddle, Mario Zatelli…

For each player, we find a small portrait accompanied by a technical sheet as well as four pages dedicated to their history (5 for Jean-Pierre Papin, Editor’s note). It allows you to discover and rediscover the history of OM. It’s important to know who counted over the years and generations“, summarizes the author.

Coach Raymond Goethals and president Bernard Tapie also invite themselves to the table of giants in this gallery of portraits rich in anecdotes and emotions.
