Sunday June 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Catus hall will host the 4th Book Fair. On this occasion, its organizer Dany Vacandare answered our questions.

What will be the theme of this show?

This year we wanted to favor authors for whom this is their first book. There will be six, out of thirty-six registered. The goal is to bring “new” and “old” people together to share experiences.

Where do the authors come from?

They are mainly local authors, who come from the department or neighboring departments. But there will also be authors from Bouches-du-Rhône, Hautes-Pyrénées, Gironde… I still have thirteen on the waiting list. There will also be two publishing houses (from Tarn) and the Prayssac bookstore. I think the hall will be very full!

Are any activities planned?

Around 11:30 a.m., children from the school will come and read aloud, and a tribute to Bernard Pivot will be paid, with the reading of one of his texts.

What is special about the Catus book fair?

There are two: firstly friendliness and welcome; then we are in a rural area, and culture in rural areas has been highlighted by the Minister of Culture!

Will there be a fifth Book Fair?

It’s way too early to tell! We will first take stock after the fourth, and then we will decide, with our associative and public partners, what action to take.
