Pau: “Plural Feminins”, a book that highlights women

Around sixty people came to the amphitheater to hear the authors, Gisèle Montaut for the writing and Colette Tilhou for the watercolor illustrations.

Colette Tilhou and Gisèle Montaut presented “Féminins plurielles” at the media library.

Antonin Nicol

The feminist work presents twenty-six women, almost all from Béarn. 26 women, aged 17 to 80, who work in very different environments: politics, sport, pastoralism, commerce, crafts…

We find the stories, among others, of Isabelle Ithurburu (godmother of the edition), Alexandra Lacrabère, Martine Lignières-Cassou, Cathy Capdevielle, Danielle Gay and Clarice Rose. They spoke about their atypical professional life and their personal life, while confiding their difficulties in reconciling the two within a male-dominated society.

For the writer Gisèle Montaut, this work required three years of investigation.
