will soon host a huge 8,800 m2 Emmaüs Salon

Do you like to hunt or read books? So imagine for a moment 8,800 m² dedicated to second-hand goods for a day: objects, gems, furniture and books, from 27 Emmaüs in the , and Europe! This is the bet of the Emmaüs Salon which will set up shop in on Sunday October 27, for a (very) large solidarity sale. In addition to good deals? Activities and engaging meetings. A good reason to cut short your lie-in.

The Sunday October 27Emmaüs World goes “reiterate the tradition of trade fairs”by installing a Giant Emmaüs exhibition at the Strasbourg exhibition center (Wacken).

The project? A solidarity sale covering 8,800 m², bringing together 27 Emmaüs from the Grand Est, France and Europe (Germany, Netherlands, Italy and Romania), for the benefit of Emmaüs International.

“Citizenship and knowledge sharing”

On the program, first of all: a sale of second-hand items, spread over 4,000 m². But not only that.

In addition to artistic and musical activitiesand an exhibition space for Emmaüs projects… 2,500m² will be dedicated to the sale of second-hand bookswith animations on the themes of reading and writing, to honor the nomination of Strasbourg as “UNESCO World Book Capital 2024”.

Advance that “reading and writing is also solidarity, and cultural and intellectual emancipation, allowing everyone to claim their rights”, the show will therefore focus on “citizenship and knowledge sharing”and will be part of the City’s “Read Our World” agenda. On the program? Ddebates and conferences with committed authors and associative actors and actresses.

Note also that the event has a godfather and godmother : the author Fatou Diome – committed to solidarity and dignity – and the political journalist Edwy Plenel (co-founder and former president of Mediapart).

In short: a united and committed sale for a cultural and activist flea market day. A real plus, this Emmaüs Salon.
