It’s a brand new book fair which will take place this weekend of October 19 and 20, 2024, at Thuit de l’Oison (Eure). The association The Roman companiese, created recently, presents its Thuit Romance Festival, dedicated to the literary genre of the novel. “The idea for the association came from my daughter Anaïs,” confides Aurélie Boennec. We like to read, mainly novels. We wanted to set up a book fair specializing in fiction,” explains the president of the association, Aurélie Boennec. On the program:

Two godmothers

Saturday October 19 at 10 a.m. is the opening of the Festival.

– From 10:30 a.m., one of the two godmothers of the festivalMo Gadarr, will be interviewed. Author and French teacher in , her first novel Black Feelings (2017) received critical acclaim. In her stories, she mixes romance with strong societal issues. His latest book, Undress Mewill be found at the show.

– At 11 a.m., the other patron of the show, Chrys Galia, will give a masterclass. She will talk about the diversity of being in a publishing house and self-publishing.

– At 12 p.m., Eva de Kerlan will be interviewed. This author navigates between different literary genres and explores human emotions, standing out with plots that go off the beaten track.

– At 12:30 p.m., Cami Lys will read extracts from her novels. This author of “dark” romance (a literary genre on the border between love, desire, sexuality and violence), notably wrote a trilogy on the mafia.

Interviews and masterclasses

– At 1 p.m., the Drakkar publishing house will be interviewed. Based in , this publishing house was born from the passion of a lover of reading and human relations. She specializes in dark novels.

– At 1:30 p.m., Mo Gadarr will give a masterclass on the representation of women in contemporary romance.

– At 2:30 p.m., interview with Lau’El, who publishes books in the contemporary or fantasy genre.

– At 3 p.m., Claire Rio Petit will be interviewed. Originally from Bernay and with high intellectual potential, she is committed to inclusion and accessibility.

– At 3:30 p.m., masterclass with Cami Lys on the representation of the man and the woman as an object in dark romance.

– At 4:20 p.m., interview with the Passion Phénix house, specializing in romance.

– At 5 p.m., interview with Émilie CH, author and director of the Lire en Normandie association, which organizes a literary fair in Le Teilleul every year.

– At 6 p.m., the salon closes.

– At 7:30 p.m. a evening meal between authors and readers at the Francesca restaurant.

– At 12 p.m., interview with Audrey C, who delves into the world of disability and illness and addresses often ignored subjects in her books.

– At 1:00 p.m., reading of an extract with Emilie CH.

– At 14, masterclass with Charly Reinhardt ona place of LGBT romance in all the romance.

– At 3 p.m., interview with Cami Lys.

– At 3:20 p.m., reading of an extract with Audrey C.

– At 3:50 p.m., interview with Charly Reinhardt and Sybelia. The first is passionate about pop culture, video games, comics and cooking, and draws inspiration from them in her books. Sybelia writes dark romance.

– At 4:10 p.m., reading of an extract with Drakkar

– At 4:30 p.m. draw of the raffle: the Passion Phénix house has, in fact, launched a competition on the networks to win a night in a guest room at the Château du Bosc-Féré with the meal of the authors/readers evening offered to the Francesca restaurant so that someone can come to the Thuit Romance Festival. Part of the profits from the raffle will be donated to the Bosroumois Cancer Recovery House, which supports people with cancer.

– At 5:00 p.m., the first edition of the Thuit Romance Festival closes
