Roman de Gare, Philibert Humm: and I hear the train laughing!!

In these times that are not always very funny and while a large majority of books for the literary season are not the funniest (a recent example of a book review which got off to a very good start audience-wise), here is a little gem of fun and derision which is the work of a novelist we did not know: Philibert Humm.
He is obviously the author of two other novels Roman river and a canoe epic on the Seine, and this time he takes us on board with a character who bears the same name as him and who seems to have quite a few attributes and who finds himself here as a stowaway in freight cars

Philibert Humm has fun with his misadventures and we have fun with him, despite the scabrous situations in which the two travelers sometimes find themselves. But all’s well that ends well thanks in particular to friendship! In this rather crazy story, comedy rubs shoulders with wit, as funny as it is sparkling, it’s a pleasure to follow Philibert’s adventures.

The story is full of humorous and offbeat reflections on our contemporary society, all served by a style full of puns, absurd digressions and funny situations.

It’s enjoyable! Don’t miss the train!

He won’t come back three times, and we can say that this crazy adventure takes us on the right track!!
