With the theme of the historical novel, this new edition of the book fair in Lagny-sur-Marne (Seine-et-Marne) will welcome costumed writers on Saturday October 5 to illustrate their works, as well as numerous activities.

Discover authors

Organized by Christa Mallet from the Lagny Val de Bussy Lions Club and with the support of the municipality, the event will, like last year, occupy the reception rooms of the Lagny town hall. More than a hundred writers are expected. For the vast majority, these are Ile-de- authorswho have published little.

Christa Mallet explains:

I feel entrusted with a mission for the regional novel. At the Lions Club, we want to promote local authors. Our desire is not to further highlight the stars of publishing.

Many activities on the program

This year, a theme was favored, that of the historical novel. Authors are invited to come in costume to showcase their work. The day will also be punctuated by various activities. Of the dictations to test your spelling level, a children’s poetry competition, a exhibition of paintingson the theme “water, source of life” based on works by primary school children and, in the ambulatory, a meeting oflocal publishers.

If the goal for the Lions club is to promote local literaturea financial contribution is requested from the authors present. The money raised will allow disadvantaged children, chosen by the CCAS, to go on vacation. Their trip will be organized by the Lions Club branch, Vacances plein air.

Hours: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
