The Parisian apartment of Rudy Guénaire, the founder of PNY restaurants

An apartment under the roofs of Paris, bathed by the sun during the day, and by the rays of the Eiffel Tower in the evening.

If we had to describe Rudy Guénaire’s apartment with one word, it would be the adjective luminous. “The first summer we had breakfast wearing sunglasses” he says. About three years ago, the entrepreneur and interior designer and his wife Raphaële bought this 100 square meter apartment on a Parisian top floor, and moved in with their newly born daughter Madeleine. They spot the apartment on an ordinary real estate search site. When they see the photos, they immediately understand that it is a former artist’s studio and that it “Just remove the ugly ceiling to reveal windows”. An ideal apartment for the interior designer who seeks natural light in his creations.

A few years earlier, aged 25, he walked for 5 months in the Rockies in the United States, sleeping under the stars, an experience that had a profound impact on him. Back in the frenzy of the city of lights, he seeks “a place where, in the midst of the hustle and bustle, we can stop and look at the sky. » This explains why the designer, known for his expressive interiors, limited himself here to cream and brown tones. “Here, the decor is the light. And, at the end of the day, like now, it’s spectacular. The living room changes color every minute. » It is from his sofa that Rudy Guénaire likes to contemplate this spectacle. But in the evening, it is sitting on the bench in the dining room, placed by him in the extension of the Eiffel Tower, that he observes the changes of time, marked by the sparkle of the building. ” It is magic ! »
