The National Library of Israel has released a special update to its annual book publishing survey, focusing specifically on books published in the wake of the October 7 terrorist attacks and in the wake of the ongoing terrorist attacks and the ongoing war. To date, 170 books and publications have been published in Israel and abroad, including 23 of poetry and prose, 30 of non-fiction and philosophy, and 29 testimonies and stories of heroism. The survey is based, in part, on data relating to books received under the Books (Legal Deposit) Act, which requires anyone publishing a book in more than 50 copies to deposit two copies with the Library nationality of Israel.

NLI therefore invites self-published authors and/or non-Israeli publishers to send two copies of their works to the library, so that they can be preserved for research and study in future generations.
