the essential
Meetings, appointments, discoveries, workshops, guests, prizes…, the L’Isle-Jourdain bookstore is also back in business this September.
Every year, in September, it’s time for the literary rentrée. For people who love to read, the Effets de Pages bookstore in L’Isle-Jourdain announces a program full of new releases, discoveries and meetings.
The readings
“Crossing the Mountains and Being Born Here” is by Marie Pavlenko. The author paints a portrait of two women who have lost everything and who will gradually tame each other and start living again. A moving novel, full of hope and humanity.
“La Petite Bonne” by Bérénice Pichat is a novel with an original form in which the author lets three voices be heard in the closed space of a bourgeois home. An intimate painting as much as a social chronicle.
