Divock Origi is having a torrid time back in Italy after his loan spell with Nottingham Forest, training alone away from AC Milan with nobody calling.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who cover the player today and how he’s been left on the fringes after returning this summer.

Origi spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest after a difficult first year in Italy following his departure from Liverpool.

He only managed 22 appearances and 754 minutes in total last season, with a goal and an assist, before being sent back to Italy this summer.

Milan don’t particularly want him anymore and he’s currently a part of the U23 squad, a further indication of his status.

Gazzetta put it into words, explaining that Origi is one of the player currently ‘outside the project’ as far as the Italian club are concerned.

That’s left the Belgian striker training on his own with a personal athletic trainer in Florence and hoping offers come from somewhere.

That’s not happened, though, as there have been few requests and even fewer which have been concrete. In other words, nobody is really picking the phone up to speak to him.

It’s a sad situation for the Belgian, who has had a miserable few years at Nottingham Forest and Milan and must be longing for life back on the bench at Liverpool.
