Who are Ricus Jansegers and Lotte Vermeir?

Ricus Jansegers is a director by training. He worked for 8 years at Canal+, until he became antenna director and later CEO of SBS Belgium in 2002, the company above the channels that were then called VT4 and VIJFtv. He succeeded in increasing the market share with his own Flemish programs such as ‘Peking Express’, ‘The Block’ and ‘Temptation Island’.

After a stint at the international parent company ProSiebenSat 1, Jansegers ended up at VTM in 2014. He further profiled VTM as a family channel and scored with major show programs such as ‘K3 zoekt K3’. Six years later, in 2020, he was thanked for services rendered after a reorganization at parent company DPG. In 2021, he ended up as Director of Content at VRT.

Lotte Vermeir was network manager since mid-2021, but she had been working for VRT since 2008. In the past, she was head of the VRT research department and was also the right-hand woman of then network manager Olivier Goris for a long time. She was involved in the start-up of the streaming platform VRT NU (the predecessor of VRT MAX). Together with director of Public Assignment Karen Donders, Vermeir also negotiated the management agreement of VRT.
