The ax fell this Friday, January 10, 2025. The management control commission of the French Basketball Federation (FFBB) sanctioned Aurore Vitré Basket Brittany a penalty of 2 000 euros et from a collection point.
A decision which is not really a surprise since the difficulties of the AVBB were known. In July 2024, we report the delicate situation of N1M club.
Several points noted by the commission
The commission justified its decision on several points: “exceeding the personnel costs framework for the 2023/24 season, the non-compliance with the validated budget for the 2023/24 season, non-compliance with the obligation to constitute the reserve fund for the 2023/24 season, the production of incomplete or unreliable documentsor not presenting the reality of the club’s financial situation.”
After the announcement of this sanction, the AVBB can appeal against the decisions of the management control commission, within ten working days from the date of receipt of the decision.
The club’s reaction
The AVBB reacted to this decision in a press release to be found on its social networks.
“We have not yet reached the level required by the obligatory reserve fund authorities, in order to ensure the sustainability of the project.
Rest assured that the leaders are hard at work to continue, in a more difficult context for everyone, to improve the financial situation of the AVBB with a view to reconstituting this reserve fund. »
The club adds:
We would like to thank our volunteers for their human investment throughout these seasons. Thank you also to our public and private partners for their essential support for our project. The sports staff are hard at work defending the club’s colors, they will need your support more than ever.
The AVBB specifies that the team of Fabien Calvez aims to grab the upper hand. “Your support at each meeting will be all the more decisive in overcoming the challenges that will arise in 2025,” concludes the club.
