Sports floors, which are heavily used, are exposed to wear which depends on the intensity of the traffic. “It is difficult to give a precise duration of wear, because it varies depending on use,” underlines Virginie Pinero, marketing manager for the brand. Strategic areas, like the “racket” and inside the three-point line, require special attention. To meet the specific needs of multi-sport fields, Plastor has designed a technical range, “Sport”.
This new range is distinguished by products without waxes, reducing the risk of slipping, and offering increased resistance to abrasion and puncturing, for maximum durability. Compliance with safety standards and anti-slip standards is validated by external laboratories. In collaboration with the FFBB, Plastor is supporting the renovation of around 1,000 basketball courts in France, by providing its expertise and technical products.
Preparation, finishing, tracing: tailor-made solutions
Plastor offers undercoats adapted to each species of wood: fond dur Prim’so, for oak, neutralizes anti-oxidants and improves the adhesion of varnishes and the bottom clog, for beech, predominant on sports fields, fills absorption irregularities. For finishing, the vitrificateur Pur-t Sport, all species, based on polycarbonate resins, combines slipperiness, cushioning and impact resistance.
The range also includes a tracing paint, for precise lines, and the PU35 paint, covering and anti-dust, in 12 shades, for large areas. “It is now possible to differentiate areas of the field using specific colors, to better enhance them and meet the expectations of the players,” explains Virginie Pinero.
Regular maintenance is essential to extend the life of sports floors and preserve their performance. Plastor offers a parquet cleaner and a intensive cleanser, particularly to remove traces of gum or grease, and a metallizing reviver which revives tarnished surfaces and fades superficial scratches.
