Ideally located on the edge of the thermal road and in the immediate vicinity of the forest, the eponymous building “La Belle Forêt” in Darney, which notably houses the tourist office, hosted the first Accueil Vélo label presentation of the year this Thursday 2025.
These are therefore seven new structures which integrate the national network bringing the number of labeled in the Vosges to nearly 200. As recalled William Mathis, the vice-president of the Departmental Council responsible for mobility, “ Cycling is an important axis of economic and tourist development for the Department, whether it is an occasional or more regular practice. The varied terrain allows enthusiasts to find terrain conducive to the practice of their discipline. » It was therefore important for the Departmental Council to develop the bicycle welcome label in its territory. This is why since 2016, the departmental community has ensured the animation of this national brand in the Vosges. It awards the label to applicant structures after evaluating a certain number of criteria and covers membership fees.
Present at this discount, Alain Rousseldepartmental councilor and president of the Community of Communes Les Vosges Côté Sud-Ouest also discussed the tourist development of the sector highlighting the good network of cycle routes in this part of the department, in particular with the blue route, Moselle-Saône by bike (V50), which attracts a significant number of cycle tourists. An observation also echoed by the owners of the Les Pins campsite in La Vôge les Bains who see this clientele outnumbering their spa clientele. And to conclude, all the owners of the labeled structures testify to the usefulness of joining the network to make themselves better known to cycle tourists.
By choosing a structure with the bicycle reception label, the cycle tourist has the guarantee :
- To be close to a cycle route (more or less 5 km)
- To have suitable equipment: secure bicycle shelter, repair kit
- To benefit from an attentive welcome: useful information and advice (tours, weather, etc.)
- To have services adapted to cyclists: luggage transfer, washing and drying of laundry, rental of bicycles and accessories, bicycle washing, etc.
