The two countries have concluded an agreement on the sidelines of the participation of an Emirati delegation in the 11th meeting of the Arab Cooperation Group and at the “Newspace Africa” ​​.

The Arab Emirates and Egypt, represented by their space , signed a memorandum of agreement in order to strengthen cooperation in peaceful space activities, reports, Thursday, the Emirati agency (WAM). The agreement was concluded on the sidelines of the participation of an Emirati delegation in the 11th meeting of the Arab Space Cooperation Group and at the “Newspace Africa” ​​conference, organized in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

On this occasion, the director of the Emirates Space Agency, Salem Butti Al Qubaisi, indicated that this memorandum of understanding constitutes an “essential” stage in the journey of Arab space cooperation, stressing that he reflects the strategic vision of the United Arab Emirates, who see in space a promising gateway to sustainable development, exchange of knowledge and innovative solutions common.

This partnership is part of a shared desire between the two countries to invest in human capital, to promote the location of knowledge and to build a competitive knowledge economy based on innovation and leadership, in the service of a more prosperous and more stable future for the peoples of the region, he continued, quoted by WAM.

This memorandum aims to support efforts in sustainable development, strengthen national skills and mobilize spatial technologies for companies, as well as to promote scientific research and the development of space applications for peaceful purposes. It thus establishes a framework of long -term cooperation in the civil space, based on the exchange of expertise, research and technologies, as well as on the launch of joint projects contributing to the sustainable development objectives of the two countries.

Cooperation will relate to several areas, including technologies, navigation and timing, earth observation and remote sensing, knowledge of the spatial situation, remote management of assets, as well as research and development in emerging and advanced technologies.
