The mayor of Sénas, Philippe Ginoux, returned to the significant risk of flooding and on increasingly frequent Mediterranean episodes which will possibly touch the town, as was already the case in a recent past.
Accompanied by Olivier Mozol, prime contractor of the Cabinet Artelia, the councilor presented the structuring project of the Roubine path, essential to resize its rain network, then secure its access close to schools before giving it another dimension with the creation of a real green route.

It is essential to act“Explains the mayor who admits to having been marked by the dramatic episodes that occurred in Valencia, Spain, last October.
He believes that he is his duty as mayor of “Carry out this type of work especially when the place is also easily identifiable.”
This project is today the subject of several studies which should be finalized by the end of next month, before the business consultation, the analysis of the offer and the notification of the works markets this summer, then a start of the work in October for a delivery announced in June 2026.
The next dedicated public meeting, in September, will refine this schedule but also to detail the automotive traffic during the work.
The cost of the Roubine path operation is estimated at 2.1 million euros excluding tax. It includes, among other things, the metropolis share for rain networks (€ 700,000 excl. Tax), roads and so-called “dry” networks for 1.1 million euros or different related costs: project management, topography, geo-radar for 100,000 euros.
The rain dimension taken into account
The projection of the works reveals the discretion of electrical and telecommunications networks by the company territory of energy 13 (ex SMED 13). The municipality will take care of civil engineering works such as the laying of the heeks on the public parties, while the energy territory 13 will do so for the private parts as well as for the wiring of the electrical networks.
The two projects will be able to benefit from a financial envelope within the framework of a large program: 2.6 million euros in subsidies from the department, 1.7 million from the Water Agency, 1.3 million from the metropolis, the rain is a metropolitan competence, and 1.3 million in the region. 20% of the remaining financing will be a municipal charge.
The reclassification of the market square, Place Auguste-Jaubert and the November 11 was therefore discussed by this prism since it provides for the designing of an area of 17,276 m², the decorrelation of 101,478 m² in the event of rain, a total area concerned of 11.9 ha. The work selected would thus make it possible to no longer reject rainwater to the network of the Roubine chemin.
