Antoine Toussaint, a big name of French song, made a stupid on stage. Ten years later, he went by train to Geneva, Switzerland, for assisted suicide. Victory, one of his biggest fans, sits in front of him … Jean-Pierre Améris signs a funny and moving romantic road movie with a perfect duo, Gérard Darmon with a great lonely buggery that only aspires to tranquility and Valérie Lemercier spicy as an exuberant woman who has just come out of prison to attend his daughter’s wedding. Their complicity contributes to the attachment that we experience for their characters and the film does not allow itself to be restricted to the shackles of the Comédie Française. The misunderstandings do not crush the personality of the protagonists, who quickly realized her that she hid her papers to prevent him from going to the end of her act, she hides flaws behind her eccentricity. As an agent hoping to revive the star’s career – and his only real friend – Patrick Timsit brings an additional soul and a beautiful humanity. A tender entertainment that lets out of a burst of laughter and uses Darmon’s vocal talent nicely, with a beautiful cover of “Mambo Italiano”.
Comedy by Jean-Pierre Améris with Valérie Lemercier, Gérard Darmon and Patrick Timsit.
