The humorist Pierre Palmade, imprisoned since December 2024 after his conviction for provoking a serious narcotic road accident, was released, Wednesday, April 16, from the penitentiary center of Bordeaux-Grandignan. He will continue his sentence of two years in prison under electronic bracelet, at home.
Tuesday, the Bordeaux Court of Appeal had validated the development, under an electronic bracelet, of its five-year prison sentence, two of which were farm, pronounced in November 2024 by the Melun Criminal Court (Seine-et-Marne). It thus confirmed the decision of March 26 of the tribunal for the application of the penalties of Bordeaux for which the prosecution had immediately filed an appeal, only contesting the hourly terms.
The penalty chamber has thus changed the settling schedules fixed to supervise Mr. Palmade at home. Two schedules scheduled in the evening “Correspond to care modules which are one of the obligations of the measure”according to the general prosecutor’s office. The actor is notably followed medically as part of his addictions. The judgment of the Court of Appeal also includes a ban on contact with the victims of the accident.
Final judgment
This decision has arranged his sentence of five years in prison, two of which were closed, pronounced in November by the Melun Criminal Court (Seine-et-Marne) after an ultra-mediatized trial. The 57 -year -old actor was imprisoned on December 9.
On February 10, 2023, taking the wheel after three days consuming drugs without sleeping, the actor struck a car rolling on the opposite track. Three people are seriously injured: a 38-year-old man, his 6-year-old son and his 27-year-old sister-in-law who, pregnant, loses after the shock the child she was waiting for.
Mr. Palmade did not appeal the judgment, making him final. This resounding file had led to a cascade of revelations in the press on its addictions (alcohol, narcotics, “chemsex”) and uncovered its dark face. Appearing very marked at his trial in November, a livid face, Mr. Palmade had asked for forgiveness from the victims at the helm.
Mr. Palmade “ is entitled, like any justiciable, to the devices provided for by law when it meets the conditions ”had reacted at the end of March Me Mourad Battikh, lawyer for civil parties during the correctional trial, after the first instance decision on the development of his sentence. “This does not minimize the pain of the victims, who still live with the consequences of this drama.
