It is a great blunder of production. Invited in “C to you” this Monday, May 5 on France 5, on the occasion of the promotion of “La Trio tour”, his spectacle led drums with Baptiste Lecaplain and Arnaud Tsamère, Jérémy Ferrari has done honor to his legendary sense of distribution … while evoking, in his own way, a very intimate part of his story.
“You are looking for buzz, Elisabeth”
Upon his arrival on the set, the atmosphere was placed: Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine whose little blunders are legion in the program, is mistaken with first names, presenting him as “Jérôme”. An error immediately noted by the humorist, visibly amused. A few moments later, the tone rises from a notch – in irony, at least – when a glass of wine is served at the table. “”Are you going to use alcohol every time I come? Do you really want me to relapse at home? Looking for the buzz, Elisabeth“, He launches, pinches-older. By his side, his two companions have a closed face. “It’s Anne-Elisabeth“She corrects,”No, sorry, it’s a mistake“, She adds about the glass of alcohol, before chaining on her questions. “You called me Jérôme, I can call you as I want, Catherine”, retorts the humorist. Pupil offers you to view the sequence in the video above.
A moment that hides a much heavier reality. Jérémy Ferrari has long fought against alcoholism. In 2022, he already confided on this same set that he had come close to death, evoking an attempted suicide in 2016, at the height of his addiction. Drinking as soon as it wakes up, consuming up to six liters of wine a day: the humorist has never succeeded in his story. A detoxification, followed by a radical commitment in sport, marked a saving turning point. Today, Jérémy Ferrari openly talks about his “Bigorexia”, this addiction to sport that replaced that with alcohol. “”I am dependent on everything“He said recently. But this raw honesty nourishes the strength of his shows, where he does not hesitate to approach the darkest subjects with sharp lucidity.

The small hanging with Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine, although annecdotal, highlights a recurring dilemma on television sets: between conviviality and responsibility, the dosage is sometimes delicate. In August 2021, in the program “On rebuilding TV” on RTL, Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine had however assured that “C to you” respected strict rules of alcohol consumption: “We offer a glass of wine to our guests if they wish. A glass of wine! We do not tighten our guests. (…) These are public health rules.”
A sequence that recalls another. On May 14, 2024, on the occasion of the launch of the Cannes Film Festival, Jane Fonda made a remarkable entrance on the delocalized set of the show, a cup of champagne in hand. A scene as glamorous as it is problematic, that Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine immediately commented: “But, you came with a cup of champagne? We can’t drink with you Jane, because on French television, you don’t have the right to drink alcohol“Astonished, the actress drank a sip before hiding her glass, under the laughter of the plateau. The host then added the famous: “Alcohol abuse is dangerous for health“, as recommended by the health authorities.
Because if alcohol seems to be part of the decorum of the “French” TV sets, the law remains clear: the direct or indirect promotion of alcoholic beverages is framed by the ousted law of 1991. This prohibits any advertising for alcohol on television. The simple fact of toast or highlight the conviviality over a drink can be perceived as a sprain to these principles, especially at a prime hour.
