Civil protection calls for vigilance in summer – the press of Tunisia

Civil protection warned, in a statement published on Monday against the increased risk of fires, especially during the summer season.
It called on citizens to preserve the environment and agricultural wealth, and to protect the trees from flames, due to the drying of herbs.
It also urged to avoid certain risky behaviors likely to cause fires, such as lighting of lights to cook or grilling trees during outings in the great outdoors, the jet of cigarette butts by the road, or the burning of vegetation in wooded areas.
Civil protection emphasizes that these practices promote rapid spread of fires and complicate their extinction.
